All driver functions slow when used on a shared network drive:

Whilst it is possible to store UD6/CMtool files on a shared network drive, performance is considerably improved with polyserver is used for networking instead.

This is because for the polyserver process, the files are on a LOCAL hard disk. This allows the computer and operating system to maximize buffering and other performance saving measures.
