IDF will not compile.
During compilation of components, Uniface updates the last compiled date/time stamp, and possibly creates Descriptors / Signatures. If you are using Uniface in a SCM/CM environment, you do not want the files being modified all the time.
For this reason you can set the nodeny parameter in the [DRIVER SETTINGS] area of your assignment file with the USYS$UD6_PARAMS setting. This tells the UD6/CMtool driver to not report failures to write data.
Since this may not be a good setting to have on at all times, you can also set the nodeny on for a single session using the SQL Workbench by setting the Data Path to UD6 and typing nodeny in the SQL Command and pressing the SQL button.
To switch the file access checking back on, use the command nodeny disable.
NOTE: This does not actually permit write access to the file, it just prevents Uniface from knowing that an error has occurred.
You may still get messages similar to these in your message frame, but they will not prevent compilation:
UD: MMF: Unable to re-open file for write.
Permission denied
