A product is the top most item in a PVCS Dimensions database of things that it manages. Source code, as well as change requests, documentation etc all belong to a product. You create a product using the process modeller.
Start the process modeller, and log in using an account with permissions to create products.
Select the option to Create a product, and press Next.
Define a new product by pressing the Add button and filling in the correct details. In our example the ID is BRIDAL, based on $GENERIC, Variant AAAA and version no. of 1. ADMINISTRATOR is the Product-Manager, Change-Manager and Parts-Controller.
Press OK when done. PVCS Dimensions lets you know when the product has been created.
