How the driver works

The Uniface architecture is designed around the concept of components that can be replaced without the application being affected.

What allows a Uniface application to run on many databases and operating systems, are these replaceable drivers.

Of all the applications ever written in Uniface, the Uniface development environment is especially designed to be able to operate on all platforms and databases, thereby allowing it to use all drivers.

The March Hare CMTOOL/UD6 Driver is a database emulator that is specifically designed to store the tables that the IDF uses..

Uniface and Polyserver transparently handle situations where the driver / database is located on the local or a remote machine.
